How To Free Up Space on Android Smartphone
Some messaging and video-calling apps can take up a lot of storage on your mobile phone, which may lead to the phone running slower than normal or the battery life not lasting very long. To minimise the risk of this happening, it’s important to delete any apps or documents from your phone that you no longer use. Here, you will find a step-by-step guide on how to do this if you own an Android smartphone, eg. Samsung, Huawei, etc.
How to Uninstall Apps
Method One
Step One – Hold your finger down on the app you wish to uninstall. A series of options should appear above the app icon
Step Two – Click ‘Uninstall to remove the app
Method Two
Step One – Go to ‘Settings’
Step Two – Scroll down until you come to ‘Apps’. When in Apps, find the app that you want to uninstall. They will be listed in alphabetical order.
Step Three – Select the app you wish to uninstall and choose the ‘Uninstall’ option.
How to Delete Pictures and Videos
Step One – Open the photo gallery on your phone
Step Two – Hold down on the photo/video you wish to delete until a circle appears in the top left-hand corner of each photo/video in your gallery
Step Three – If you wish to delete more than one item, click the circle on each photo/video you wish to delete until a tick appears. This means that this item has been selected to be deleted.
Step Four – Press ‘Delete’. If you have selected more than one item, the number of items being deleted should appear next to the ‘Delete’ symbol
